TargetSmart Communications: Seeking Remote Client Services and Communications Intern (Summer 2020)

Position Description:  (This is a paid internship.) Do you have a passion for social media and digital communications? Are you also interested in using cutting edge technology to help our clients? If the answer is “yes,” our team wants to hear from you!

REAL Strategies – a data-driven communications, technology and advocacy consulting firm – has an exciting opportunity for a paid, part-time (15-20 hrs./week) Client Services and Communications Intern for Summer 2020. This internship is ideal for recent college graduates or rising college seniors with relevant coursework/degrees in communications, political science, digital media, and information technology. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Intern is responsible for assisting our Clients Services and Communications teams. The Intern will be responsible for testing and managing client offerings and helping to craft ongoing communications, such as newsletters, social media posts, and case studies. They will work closely with and support the needs of the Client Services and Communications project leads.

Responsibilities and Preferences Include (but not limited to):  

  • Development and execution of social media content and communications.
  • Newsletter content creation and facilitation of other corporate communications.
  • Dashboard quality assurance testing, user experience analysis, and administrative duties.
  • Client portal quality assurance testing, user management, and content creation.
  • Custom internal and client-facing report creation and execution of other basic data requests.
  • Quality assurance testing for client communications projects.
  • Strong technical abilities in Excel, WordPress, Wix, Mailchimp, and Hootsuite are preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for communications, politics, and technology are preferred.

Qualifications:  This intern must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment. They must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines. To be successful in this role, the individual must demonstrate experience with communications, politics, and/or technology.

About Our Program:  

  • Interns work a part-time schedule, typically between 15 and 20 hours/week.
  • Washington, D.C. based applicants preferred, although not required.
  • Telework possible (possibly required due to COVID-19 circumstances).
