Position Description: Sioux Valley Energy is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist. Responsibilities include developing, coordinating and implementing communication strategies for the Cooperative. Must have excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills. Experience with social media marketing for digital platforms. Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field plus three years of experience is required. Strong computer skills required. Reporting location can be at any of our service centers in Colman, SD, Brandon, SD or Pipestone, MN. Education: Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. A four-year bachelor’s degree is preferred. Three to five years progressively responsible experience involving communicating with the public or other related areas. Experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Requirements: Must possess an effective working knowledge of social media techniques, digital media design and placement, website design, mail inserts, newspaper ads, broadcast media ads, and other media. Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively handle priorities and complete them in a timely manner and the ability to work independently as a self-starter are required. Must be able to prepare oral and written presentations of complex materials. Computer abilities are a must.
