Interning with the ABC News Research team gives a good idea of what it means to be an analyst in the television program research industry. Our team asks – What makes up the programs content? How does the production team format a program to best display content? Ultimately we hope to answer – How do these factors translate into ratings performance? And what segment of the population makes up a program’s audience? Our team works mostly with producers of ABC News program to best provide them with an accurate picture of how their programming performs.

Responsibilities

A day in the life…

  • Analyzing audience data and maintaining tracks
  • Creating, analyzing and distributing Daily Time Period Reports, Final Weekly Reports and Weekly Minute by Minute reports
  • Participating in News and Sales Development Intern Project

Basic Qualifications

What you bring to the role…

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel with the demonstrated ability to prepare analyses under strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in News and/or Media
  • Strong organizational skills, a high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
  • High level of comfort in basic math and large complex sets of data

Basic Qualifications

  • All students must be eligible to work in the US
  • All students must be at least 18 years old
  • You must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months – OR – be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
  • All candidates must be available from January to May for the 15 week program
  • All candidates must be willing to work full-time 40 hours/week
  • All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year or recent graduate
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
