Poetry Out loud 2k16

This event was hosted by the English department and coordinated by Kathy Holmes for high school students to showcase their talents at reciting poems by assorted number of authors in the Stern ballroom this past Sunday. I volunteered at the welcoming and judge’s table. It was quite interesting to see people of that age being so passionate about reciting works of some authors I never heard of. All the participants put forth an honest effort. The competition consisted of two rounds in which the judges would score and I would hand them to the score keepers. In the end their was the winner, an alternate and the second and third place holders. I had a picture but alas it is no longer available due to the fact I forgot to download it off my snapchat. This is my second year volunteering and I plan on doing so again the following year.
