EHHP Research and Development Support: a supplemental source of funding to help cover the cost of eligible professional and leadership development experiences. Access to the pool of funds is limited to EHHP faculty, staff, and students who have exhausted all other available departmental and institutional funding.
The National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) is offering the two following professional development scholarships. Contact Eric Cash, cashen@spart6.org, for more information or with any questions.
- Professional Development Scholarship
- The NHSSCA will award 2 Professional Development Scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded to a current college student who is planning to enter the field of high school strength and conditioning and the other will be awarded to a current high school strength and conditioning coach who is fairly new in the field. Scholarship winners will receive a free registration to the NHSSCA National Conference and also $500 toward hotel and travel expenses. Please see the descriptions and requirements listed below.
- College Student Scholarship
- This scholarship will be awarded to a NHSSCA Student Member who is currently a senior in college and is planning to become a high school strength and conditioning coach after graduation. Applicants must email the required information to kevin_oneill@nobles.edu by the deadline date of April 1. Please be sure that all information is contained in one email. Please be sure to specify which scholarship you are applying for.
Applicants must submit:
- A letter detailing why they want to attend the National Conference and how they would benefit from the experience.
- A copy of their college transcript
- 2 letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a college professor at the college they attend. The other letter may be from a person of their choosing.
- A copy of their resume, which should include details about their internship experience or observational experience at the high school level.
