It was just announced that the Graduate Record Exam (the standardized test used for admission to most graduate programs) will be getting a new format and scoring system in 2011. The old scoring scheme that used 800 as the top score for each section (like the SAT) will be changed to a system with a maximum score of 170 (I suppose copying the scoring format of the LSAT). You can read about the changes in a short article posted in The New York Times today.
