O.K., so anyone who has seen The Life of Brian can provide many answers to this question.  A fun article in the Telegraph provides another answer — the Romans determined where the Brits today live.  Not earth shattering news, but a nice article to check out if you’ve got the time.

An article today about the “House of the Gladiators” in Pompeii that collapsed over the weekend. 

People often wonder why more ancient sites aren’t being excavated.  One issue is that we don’t have sufficient resources to properly care for all of the sites that have already been excavated.  Uncovering and preserving the ancient world often comes with a huge price tag.
