Dr. Alison Piepmeier, Director of Women’s & Gender Studies at the College of Charleston shares that, “bell hooks is one of the most important feminist scholars of the 20th century. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to bring her here. Her work (more than 30 books) is widely taught in Women’s and Gender Studies, African American Studies, English, Religious Studies, Sociology, and many other departments on campus. She’s an incredible scholar who deliberately makes her work accessible to a broad audience, so I think everyone will enjoy coming to hear her public lecture.”
