Good Hope

What a difference a week makes. Two weeks ago, I had the unfortunate experience of being interviewed by the FBI about the UNLV shooter. It’s still surreal to think that a former colleague is capable of that, and my heart goes out to the UNLV community. It was unforgettable, and a dark time. But I came away with a real appreciation for Chief Searson and CofC Public Safety as well as many of my colleagues. We are fortunate.

Then, a week later, I had two other unforgettable events. My daughter completed her MBA and I had the privilege of hooding her. She’s worked so hard, and I am so incredibly proud of the person she has become.

Then, a day later, our granddaughter was born! She’s absolutely beautiful and has two incredible parents. They give me such hope for the future.

Why do I share this? Because I think you too have days that are really hard. I know for many of us the holidays can be a hard time. We all have our dark days, but then there are those days where we are blessed beyond what we deserve.

As we look to 2024, we can’t pretend that there aren’t challenges ahead. There are. But, like me 2 weeks ago, we can count on our family, friends, and colleagues to help get us through to the good days. Then we can again count on these same people to celebrate with us.

Together we have hope for a better future.

YOU make a difference.

Ponder this…
