College of Charleston’s Mu Beta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) has received distinguished status for its 2022-2023 academic year achievements.

Beta Alpha Psi is the international honor society for high achieving accounting, finance and information systems students. The Mu Beta Chapter is led by advisor Karrie Saboe, instructor of accounting. Student leadership was spearheaded by President Carli Baker, Vice President Spencer Arts, Treasurer Nadja Bennett, Recorder Claire McElmurry, and Social Media Head Izzy Byers.

“All credit goes to the leadership team’s vision and the engagement of the chapter members,” said Saboe. “The officers set goals last July and worked tirelessly throughout the fall and spring terms to achieve them. I am very proud of their determination, and they passed the torch to another great leadership team for the upcoming year.”

Beta Alpha Psi bases their scoring on categories of initiation, professional activities, outreach activities, and beginning, midyear, and end of year reports. Notable activities from the academic year included attendance of the annual BAP meeting in Orlando and mid-year meeting in Charlotte.

The Mu Beta chapter initiated thirteen new members this past Spring.
