On Sunday we took the train back to Spoleto from Florence, a rather dull four hour ride, and once we were at the villa, the sky opened up with a beautiful and heavy and cooling rain (photo 1, just before the whole thing came down). Later, when the rain eased up, a few of us rode down to town to pick up some groceries at one of the few stores open on Sunday. And on our way back up the hill, the clouds parted, and we beheld what you see in photo 2: a double rainbow stretched across the landscape, ending at La Rocca itself.
We were home.
