The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest of the six schools at the College of Charleston and the one most closely aligned with the traditional disciplines of the liberal arts. The broad academic spectrum spans the classic core areas of English, history and philosophy, as well as the more modern fields of anthropology, communication, political science, psychology, religious studies and sociology. The school also has strong interdisciplinary programs in a number of contemporary areas.
Please take a moment to visit the individual departments and programs that make up the School of Humanities and Social Sciences to discover more about our exceptional students and faculty, and the impact of private giving.
