College of Charleston SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Equus Sneak Preview Dress Rehearsal, Feb. 24

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the School of the Arts, the theatre department will reprise the first play produced on the Emmett Robinson stage, Peter Shaffer’s 1975 Tony Award-winning Equus. The story is an electrifying journey into the mind of a 17-year old boy who has been remanded to a psychiatric hospital after horrifying his community with an unthinkable act of violence.  This enduring play is most recently remembered for a 2007 Broadway production which starred Daniel Radcliffe (the actor who plays Harry Potter in the films). Wine and hors d’oeuvres during pre-reception and dessert with champagne following performance. This production contains nudity and very mature subject matter. Sponsored by Halls Chophouse. Proceeds benefit the College of Charleston’s School of the Arts and the Department of Theatre. [more info]
