The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art:

Young Contemporaries 2010

Submit your artwork, attend the juror’s lecture, or see the exhibition!

2010 will be the first year that Young Contemporaries, the annual juried student exhibition, will hang in the NEW and IMPROVED Halsey Institute within the School of the Arts’ new building, The Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center for the Arts. The juror for this year’s exhibition is Mary Jane Jacob: Sculpture Professor and Executive Director of Exhibitions at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and freelance Curator. Her (free) lecture will take place on Friday, March 19th @ 7 PM in Room 309, Simons Ctr.

Submissions are NOT limited to Studio Art Majors—in fact, ALL current CofC Students (even those who graduated in December) are eligible to submit up to 3 pieces in each medium! Those who are not chosen for the Young Contemporaries exhibition, are automatically considered for the concurrent Salon des Refusés exhibition, which will be displayed in the Hill Gallery. Prizes are awarded to winners in both exhibitions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students looking for real-world gallery exhibiting experience!
