The Student Film Club meets again tonight, Wednesday, November 17, in Septima Clark Auditorium (ECTR 118)

The Student Film Club will meet and screen its next film of this semester’s film series,”Bildunsfilm” or “Coming of Age” films: American Graffiti (dir. George Luas, 1973). After devoting his first important films to science-fiction (his USC student film Electronic Labyrinth: THX-1138 4EB, and the feature based upon the same film,THX-1138) young filmmkaer George Lucas took up a challenge from his friend and partner Francis Ford Coppola decided to make a comedy. Based loosely on Lucas’s own experiences growing up in Modesto, California when hot rod culture was at its peak, the film follows several High School seniors as they spend one of their last nights together before graduation. Starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Paul Le Mat, and Harrison Ford among others. Great soundtrack, too. Where were you in ’62? Watch the trailer here. Join us at 7:00pm tonight in ECTR 118.
