Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House is partnered with Fields to Families and the Charleston Farmer’s Market in Marion Square, to bring food to those in need. The Saturday Farmer’s Market Gleaning (gleaning is the act of gathering left over produce after a harvest) opportunity, from 1pm-3pm, is collecting food from selected Farmers’ booths, collecting information and learning about other aspects of the Farmer’s Market. The Monday following the gleaning, there is Neighborhood House’s Monday Market, from 11am-1:30pm. This opportunity focuses on the distribution of the gleaned food, as well as meal preparation and preservation techniques.

They help feed over 200,000 individuals and families annually in 10 coastal South Carolina counties. This opportunity has volunteers helping food bank workers pack, clean and sort food products, to get ready for distribution. These events take place on select Friday afternoons, from 12:30-3:30pm.

This Recurring Service opportunity will take place on select Saturdays from 10am-12pm.
