The College of Charleston Jazz Program will present a concert this Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts, 54 St. Philip Street. Tickets are $10 at the door, with 100% of the proceeds going toward jazz student programming.
The concert will feature performances by the student ensembles Combo 1 and Combo 2, followed by a longer set by the Faculty Jazz Ensemble. This is a great opportunity to see old pros (Robert Lewis – saxophone, Dave Heywood – flute, Tyler Ross – guitar, Frank Duvall – bass, Quentin Baxter – drums), as well as the rising stars of tomorrow. Reception to follow.
This concert is the first of what is planned to be an annual event. All of the musicians are donating their time for this cause in order to generate the best possible amount for the program. Please help spread the word, this one’s for the students!
