Sarah Castle

Sarah Castle

At the School of Business at the College of Charleston, we teach students to lead from a place of purpose—not only in business but also in the community where they live and work. Luckily, they need to look no further than our faculty, who set the example.

Recently Sarah Castle, instructor of management and entrepreneurship, was named the business honoree for the YWCA Greater Charleston’s 2022 What Women Bring event.

The annual event convenes women from various industries across South Carolina for candid discussions about their triumphs, challenges and advice.

“It’s a huge honor to be recognized by the YWCA as the What Women Bring business honoree,” shares Castle. “The Y’s mission is close to my heart which is to empower women and eliminate racism. I’m looking forward to doing more work with them in the capacity of women in entrepreneurship.”

Castle was recently appointed full-time instructor in the Department of Management and Marketing after serving as an adjunct faculty member since August 2021.

Castle brings exceptional industry experience to the classroom, better equipping our students to take on the business world confidently. She worked for tech giant Amazon for over a decade, most recently as the director of the Amazon Technical Academy. Her background includes a variety of roles, including mergers and acquisitions, digital devices, digital and print books, and human resources. Prior to Amazon, she worked for General Electric.

The What Women Bring luncheon takes place Thursday, October 27, at Trident Technical College’s Thornley Campus.
