Charleston School of Business Faculty & Staff Updates

The Gift of Giving

Mark your calendar. The 4th annual CofC Day is next Thursday, January 26. It’s an important day as we continue to build a culture of giving. CofC Day is the College’s 24-hour day of giving that takes place on our founding day – that’s significant. It reminds us that we have a long-distinguished history and that we are building today because of those that gave years, decades, and even centuries ago. We, like them, are investing in our future.

Partnerships are our future. We have many opportunities to partner with industry, others across campus, and other institutions, and giving is another form of partnership. Having spent the early part of my career as a professional fundraiser, I learned quickly that it starts with friend-raising and connecting people with their passions. Charleston and the CofC family are committed to helping advance our mission. It’s our job to create partnership/giving opportunities and then deliver on our mission.

On this day, alums, parents, faculty, staff, students, and community members come together to support the College and provide resources for our students, campus, and community. Donors can make their gift to various programs at the College of Charleston – over 50, in fact. Notably, donors get to choose the area that is most meaningful to them. For example, we have 17 funds open for gifts in the School of Business.

This year, we will follow the college’s lead with CofC Day. However, starting January 27, 2023 (yes, the day after CofC Day), we will begin talking about OUR plans for 2024 CofC Day, specifically innovative giving challenges to increase the number of people we engage, as well as goals and challenges in supporting the development of our culture of philanthropy. As you know, together, we make a difference.

You can help us spread the word about CofC Day by reaching out to alums, advisory board members, and friends of your program or posting on social media.

Together we will build a culture of giving, and CofC Day is a great way to start the year.

YOU make a difference.

Remember:
