This video clip is from the scene where Luisa goes to the headquarters of List 14 with her father’s rifle and plans to start shooting. As she looks through the scope she starts to have second thoughts about her actions. She views the man singing the xenophobic song, the man singing along and the woman with her dog and balloons. It is hard to think what is going through her head. When the camera shot cuts to her looking through the scope, as opposed to the first person perspective of what she sees through the scope, one can clearly see the process of her thinking which leads her to lower the rifle and walk away from the headquarters. The part of the video which I slowed down was her last target that she saw, and then the cut to her face as she began to think about what she was going to do. The importance of this scene is that the actions of P18 have all led up to this moment as the escalations by the more radical members of the have cause Luisa to take it one step forward. The final choice by Luisa is to deescalate it. The thoughts that go through her head while she thinks about where she is and what she is doing.
