The Division of Information Technology needs your help transitioning all College-owned desktop and laptop computers to Windows 10 by June 2019, in order to comply with Microsoft’s phase out of Windows 7 support. All classroom, lab, and student-area computers have already been upgraded to Windows 10. In addition, all new computers purchased and any computers reimaged are being loaded with Windows 10. IT is now working area by area to make sure College-owned desktops and laptops receive the upgrade.
Staff members of Alumni Relations, Aramark, Bookstore, Business Affairs, Controller’s Office, Copy Center, Cougar Card Services, Institutional Advancement, Mail Services, Office for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, Office of Accountability, Accreditation, Planning and Assessment, Office of Financial Assistance and Veterans Affairs, Procurement and Supply Services, Residence Life and the Treasurer’s Office are invited to upgrade College-owned desktop and laptop computers now by installing Windows 10 from their computer’s Software Center. Training videos for faculty and staff members to become more familiar with the new features available in Windows 10 are located on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com
When the upgrade is ready for your department or office, Information Technology will email you with instructions. Contact the IT Helpdesk with questions or concerns by email firstname.lastname@example.org, chat help.cofc.edu, or phone 843.953.3375.
