Next summer’s PGA Championship tournament on Kiawah Island will bring more than 50,000 visitors and a local economic impact of $92 million, according to a College of Charleston School of Business study.
But that infusion of tourists and money will be “blown out of the water” by the exposure that the Charleston area and the entire state will receive from hours of network coverage broadcast to people around the world, Alan Shao, dean of the business school, said today.
