Sadly, our time in wonderful Genoa is coming to a close. While many of us are ready to sleep in our own bed back home, we are still dreading the moment when we must bid adieu (or ciao, more appropriately) to this beautiful, albeit smelly, city. As part of our wrap-up, we completed the second half of our piazza tours yesterday, with Claire, Diana, Katie, and Kate all showed us to their parts of the city.
Piazza tours were followed by apertifs and another begrudging trek back up the hill to the villa. Almost immediately, the group made their way further up the hill to Origi, where we had dinner reservations at Ristorante Montallegro. Most opted to ride the funicular up to the top, but the more adventurous and cool Sam and Matt decided to hike to the top. They were so fast that they reached the top before the group did! What rad guys! We were treated to a wonderful spread of pizza by Frances, in what was our final meal together as a group (Matt leaves in the morning). After we couldn’t eat any more, we rolled back down the hill and landed at our beds.
Genoa has been wonderful, and we’re disappointed it has to end so soon!
