Ever wanted to intern for a real-world startup accelerator?

The Booze Allen Summer Games internship program is a 10 weeks paid virtual internship simulating a real-world startup accelerator.

Throughout the course of the summer, students will develop solutions to their clients’ most pressing problems.

Summer Games internships are open to college undergraduates of all levels, with preference given to rising seniors. Students currently enrolled in STEM programs are strongly encouraged to apply. Booze Allen is now accepting applications through January 31, 2022.

MUSC Lab Seeking Students to Assist with Pancreatic Cancer Research

Volunteer research opportunities available at MUSC

Dr. Michael Ostrowski’s laboratory in the Hollings Cancer Center is looking for students interested in the fundamental biology of pancreatic cancer at the cellular and molecular level.

Students will be trained on various lab techniques and will have the opportunity to develop an independent research project. Students can expect to work 10 hours per week (during either work days or weekends)

Freshman and Sophomore Biology/ Biology related majors preferred. For all students interested, please email a CV to hanl@musc.edu

Applications are open for the South Carolina Washington Program

Applications are now open for next fall’s South Carolina Washington Semester Program (WSP). The program gives students in universities and colleges across the state of South Carolina the opportunity to spend a semester working and taking classes in Washington D.C., gaining valuable experience while earning academic credit toward their degrees. Washington Semester Program students get firsthand experience with the political process, obtaining skills that will help prepare them for careers in virtually any sphere. Recent seminars have featured meetings with White House personnel, the Deputy Attorney General, cabinet secretaries, senior TV network correspondents, lobbyists, embassy officials and other national leaders.

Become a Peer Advisor with the Academic Advising and Planning Center

The Academic Advising and Planning Center is looking for three Peer Advisors for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. Peer advisors may either start this summer or next fall.

This is a great leadership opportunity for any student; no experience required, Peer Advisors will be trained by the Academic Advising and Planning Center.

The deadline to apply for this position is February 6th at 5:00pm. Students interested will need to provide two letters of recommendation; one from a professor and one from a former employer. Letters of recommendation may be submitted here.

College of Charleston Global Game Jam 2022

Calling all gamers, coders, and video game enthusiasts!

The College of Charleston’s Computer Science Department will be hosting a Jamsite for the upcoming Global Game Jam 2022 at Harbor Walk starting on January 28th at 4:00pm. Global Game Jam 2022 is an international 48hour competition to create the best digital or analog video game.

All students, regardless of experience, are welcome to attend. Power and wifi will be provided. This is a great opportunity for any students interested in the world of video gaming.

Afghan Refugee Resettlement Webinar Panel

Learn more about current events in Afghanistan and and the national effort to resettle Afghans

The College of Charleston International Studies Program will be virtually hosting a panel on January 31st at 4:00pm.

This interdisciplinary panel of scholars will be discussing “Afghan Refugee Resettlement: From Global Challenges to Local Best Practices.”

All students are welcome to join. This is a great opportunity to learn more about current events in Afghanistan and the national effort to resettle Afghans in the United States.

The event will run from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Students may register for the event here!

Earn HONS and Honors Immersed Credit in Portugal this summer!

Still need an Honors Advanced Studies course? Looking for an Honors Immersed project? Missed out on study abroad last year? Travel to Portugal this June with the Honors College!

  • Advanced Studies (HONS 390: Evidence-Based Medicine in Lisbon with Dr. Pfile) will count towards the Advanced Studies or Honors Elective credit
  • Add an Honors Immersed project (Assessing Parks and Green Space in Lisbon with Dr. Hughey) for no additional tuition cost
