Fall internship opportunity with the Halsey Institute

The College’s Halsey Institute offers a fall semester internship for students (and recent graduates) looking to gain experience in a professional gallery setting.

What to expect: Halsey Institute internships are structured with three-week rotations under direct guidance and mentorship of each Halsey Institute staff member in the areas of development, marketing, exhibitions, administration, and education. Interns are scheduled with weekly visitor services shifts at the front desk of the Halsey Institute to create meaningful interactions with gallery visitors.

The dates: The Fall 2022 semester internship session will run from August 22 – December 9.

Who should apply: All majors and experience levels are welcome.

Launchpad for Success (LP4S) offers leadership and career development for AALANA students

Launchpad for Success (LP4S) is a two-year career development program that emphasizes mentoring, financial literacy, professional/personal development and experiential learning.

Target Audience: Rooted in equity, Launchpad is designed to create meaningful career pathways for incoming freshmen and rising sophomores – especially those who identify as African American, Latino/a, Asian American and Native American (AALANA).

Program Benefits: Workshops focused on financial literacy, career development and leadership development; access to experiential learning opportunities (e.g. internships, on/off campus employment, research or study abroad); support on multiple fronts, including the Office of Institutional Diversity, academic advising and peer coaching

Virtual internships with federal agencies available through Virtual Student Federal Service Program


The
Virtual Student Federal Service Program is offered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Information Resource Management and is an opportunity for college students to gain internship experience virtually at a federal agency.

The details: This unpaid program runs a full academic year – from September to May. Students dedicate 10 hours per week during their internship.

Who should apply? It’s an opportunity for all majors to gain not only federal experience but also mentoring and networking opportunities that could lead to exciting future careers.

Find Your Summer ’23 Internship with the help of the Career Center Internship Award

The Career Center’s Internship Award program provides students with professional guidance and financial assistance for summer 2023 internships.

How it works: Students are accepted into a cohort that will work together throughout the upcoming academic year. Students will participate in group workshops and receive personalized coaching, all designed to help prepare them to find (and succeed at) a summer ’23 internship in their field.

  • Monetary stipend: Students also receive a monetary stipend to use in support of their summer ’23 internship.
  • The goal of this award is to assist students with professional development while helping to eliminate potential financial barriers for those who otherwise may not be able to pursue an internship experience.

Who should apply: All rising sophomore and junior CofC students in any major seeking a for-credit or non-credit internship for summer ’23.

The Consultant will support a diverse set of client projects, keeping the PPS team organized and delivering the highest caliber of work. The ideal candidate will have a track record of excellence in supporting client relationships, project management experience, possess the ability to be flexible, work independently, perform in-depth research assignments, write detailed meeting notes, briefs and reports, collaborate and communicate well with others, and produce thoughtful, analytical and highly professional work.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple client projects from developing project frameworks, tracking data and completing tasks to managing timelines and deliverables

• Experience with corporate business processes such as product design, manufacturing, supply chain management, marketing, and/or business strategy is preferred
• Strong knowledge of corporate sustainability and the issues facing the leaders in this space, or willingness to acquire this knowledge
• Experience with the B Impact Assessment and carbon accounting preferred

Work Environment

MUSC Lab Seeking Student Volunteers to Assist with Human Gastrointestinal (GI) Organoid Research

Dr. Jorge Munera’s laboratory (@Muneralab on Twitter) in the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology is looking for student volunteers interested in human gastrointestinal organoid research. We use human GI organoids to study human GI development and disease. Students will be trained on various lab techniques and will have the opportunity to develop an independent research project that can count towards Honors Immersed or could even develop into a Bachelor’s Essay.

The schedule can be flexible (work days or weekends), but students will be expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Freshman and sophomore Biology or related majors preferred, but juniors and seniors with research experience will be considered.
