Three Honors Students Awarded Critical Language Scholarships

CLSCongratulations to Honors students and William Aiken Fellows Elizabeth Burdette and Madeline Edwards (also an International Scholar) for earning prestigious Critical Langauge Scholarships to study Hindi and Arabic, respectively. A recent Honors Alum, Daniel Weissglass, also won a CLS Scholarship to study in Korea. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State (Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs), the Critical Language Scholarships program offers intensive overseas language study in critical needs areas, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Turkish, and Urdu. Students interested in applying for a SLC award should plan on applying this coming fall.
