Miranda Dziobak

Environmental Health Sciences, University of South Carolina

Miranda Dziobak is a second year PhD student in the Environmental Health Sciences graduate program at the University of South Carolina. She joined the Hart Lab in 2018 where she completed her master’s thesis, “Characterizing Phthalate Exposure in Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) from Sarasota Bay, Florida 2010-2019”.

Miranda is interested in understanding anthropogenic impacts to marine life, with emphasis on health effects associated with plastics, and plastic-related compounds. Findings from her thesis have been presented at two international conferences and published in three academic journals. Miranda has also been awarded the Slocum-Lunz grant, and Outstanding Graduate Student award in the EVSS program at CofC.
