Choose the Master’s Program that is Right for You

And, professional degree programs prepare you to enter fields such as law, medicine, dentistry and physical therapy. Choosing a program that is the perfect fit for you is no easy feat. The world has become more complex and independent over the past few decades, and institutions of higher education have had to adapt. There are many programs offered fully online to accommodate students who are working full time and/or juggling the responsibilities of a family. There are accelerated programs that can be completed in one year. There are part-time programs, evening classes, online classes and more. Basically, whatever the demands of your schedule, there is a curriculum to accommodate it, and the College of Charleston offers many of these alternative learning options for the non-traditional graduate student.

The course load and schedule are not the only things to take into consideration when choosing a program. You know what your career and education goals are, and you need to make sure your master’s program is going to perfectly align with them. The Graduate School of the College of Charleston offers a variety of programs, and you may think you know which program is best suited for you. However, some of the programs have subtle differences that might make one that you haven’t even considered a better fit for your situation. For example, do you need an MBA or a MPA? Is the Marine Biology program right for you or is the Environmental and Sustainability Studies more suited to your needs? Do you know the different between a M.A.T and a M.Ed.?
