Looking Forward

We know you are about to gather with friends or family to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday, but we wanted to tell you one more thing:

An amazing opportunity is being presented to the College of Charleston community! On Tuesday, November 27th, 2012, Dr. Temple Grandin will be presenting in the Sottile Theater from 7:00-9:00pm.

Not sure who Dr. Grandin is?

Author of Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships, The Way I See It:  A personal look at autism, and Asperger’s and Thinking in Pictures: My life with autism, Dr. Grandin is an advocate for animal welfare and individuals with disabilities. Personally, she is a person with autism, an animal scientist, and a professor at Colorado State University. Her efforts have revolutionized the handling of livestock around the world, making practices more human.

Or, check out HBO movie about her life, Temple Grandin. The film, released in 2010 and starring Claire Danes, was shown in the Robert Scott Small building on Friday, November 16th, 2012. Did you make it to the screening?

 

Remember Dr. Grandin’s visit is on Tuesday, November 27th at 7:00pm. The event is free, open to the public, and seating is limited – so get there early! (Doors open at 5:30pm)
