The Southern Living Taste of Charleston

Looking for something to do this weekend in the midst of midterms, papers, and all-around stress?  The Taste of Charleston may do the trick. The Charleston Restaurant Association has partnered with Southern Living magazine to present the Southern Living Taste of Charleston 2011. For the first time, the main event expands from one day to two. It will be held at historic Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 10:30am – 5pm each day.

This celebration of Lowcountry cuisine will feature more than 40 of Charleston’s top casual and fine dining restaurants serving sample size portions of their signature dishes + beer and wine.

Activities include live entertainment from Homemade Wine, Children’s Area, the legendary Waiters’ Race and a Beer Garden featuring 40+ craft and specialty beers. The Southern Living Village will feature editor appearances, editorial-inspired vignettes, demonstrations, giveaways and more.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate and are good for admission only. Advance tickets are available at http://www.charlestonrestaurantassociation.com/taste-of-charleston/ or at any area Southcoast Community Bank. Food and beverage tickets will be purchased inside the event. Food and beverage items range from $2 – $6, and they will accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. Parking opens at 10am. Rain or shine, no refunds or exchanges, no coolers, no pets, no tents, no tailgating
