Michael Berube

Michael Berube is a renowned Professor in English Literature and Science, Technology and Society at Penn State University. He will be speaking about disability studies and disability rights to the College on September 6th at 7:00 p.m. Berube is the author of seven books on cultural studies, disability rights, liberal politics, and debates in higher education. His award-winning book, Life As We Know It, is about his early years with his son Jamie, who has Down Syndrome. He is also the author of numerous academic articles as well as publications in more popular venues such as Harper’s, the New Yorker, Dissent, The New York Times Magazine, the Washington Post, the Nation, and the Boston Globe.

This is a great opportunity for all students to hear from such an accomplished academic, as well as to learn about the subject of disabilities. Admission is free and open to the public, so I strongly suggest you to attend!
