Funded PhD Studentships in Civil War History

That makes the topic surprisingly timely, and the scholarly conversation on Civil War history is rapidly increasing. As a matter of fact, our own Center for the Lowcountry and the Atlantic World is hosting a conference on race and labor after slavery this weekend.

Amidst the flurry of historical discussion, many history students are becoming interested in this area of specialization. Luckily, Dr. David Gleeson, a professor at Northumbria University in the UK and an affiliate of the Center for the Lowcountry and the Atlantic World, recently alerted us to a unique opportunity for grad students interested in obtaining a Ph.D. in Civil War/Reconstruction History at his university.
