Recitation & Performance: Poetry Out Loud

The Poetry Out Loud competition returns to the College of Charleston on Sunday, January 26 at 1:30 PM in the Stern Center Ballroom. High school students from eleven local schools will participate by reciting and performing poems from memory as they compete for the Lowcountry Region 3 spot. The winner will advance to the state competition. Last year’s Lowcountry winner, Katherine Murchison, from the Charleston County School of the Arts, went on to win the state championship, and she represented South Carolina in the national competition in Washington, DC.
