Peer Review Guidelines

Our first peer review session will be an experiment. We will figure out what works–and what could work better in the weeks ahead.

Here’s the initial plan:

Groups of 4:

We will split up into as many groups of 4 as possible. As we likely will not have an even split, some students might be in groups with just 2 or 3  students. Those students will automatically be place in a “4” group during the next round.

Each group of 4 will be divided into 2 paired partners. The first pair will read and discuss and respond to both of the papers of the second pair, and vice versa. The responses will be guided by the criteria noted on the assignment sheets. Together, each pair of partners will compose a response to the two peers in the other partnered pair, and verbalize those results as well.

Groups of 3:

In groups of 3, each group member will response to the two other papers individually, but will then deliver their feedback in writing and verbally alongside the other group members.

Groups of 2:

In groups of 2, you will simply read and respond to the work of your peer, compose a response, and verbalize those results in a conversation.

Format for Response: All responses will be composed as a discussion thread in our group folder.
