Staff Positions with CisternYard Media

Please find the following descriptions for Executive positions for CisternYard Media for the 2014-2015 academic year.  All of these positions are paid and require 15-20 hours per week.  The deadline for this applications is March 15th, 2014 to allow for follow up interviews.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Harry Egner (x37093).

Editor-in-Chief of the Miscellany Literary and Art Journal
This is a paid position requiring about 15 hours per week. The Editor-in-Chief of Miscellany is primarily responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all paid staff and volunteer staff members, oversight for all Miscellany products and events and the production of the journal.
Miscellany is the College’s student-produced literary and art journal. Students are invited to submit their original artwork, poetry, photography and prose for consideration for inclusion in the publication. A committee comprised of individuals selected by the editor-in-chief will meet during the beginning of the fall and spring semesters to select works for publication inMiscellany. General Manager of CisternYard Public Relations
This is a paid position requiring about 15 hours per week. The Public Relations Manager is primarily responsible for the supervision of the public relations and marketing efforts for CisternYard Media. General Manager of CisternYard Radio
This is a paid position requiring about 20 hours a week. The General Manager of CisternYard Radio is primarily responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all paid staff and volunteer staff members, the coordination of radio programming efforts and oversight for all CisternYard Radio products and events.  CisternYard Radio provides the College of Charleston community with independent music and programming. CYR can be heard via the Internet at www.cisternyard.com/cyr. The station broadcasts 24 hours each day, 12 of those hours include a disc jockey manning the studio and the other 12 are managed by an automated system. All disc jockeys are expected to undergo thorough training before they are allowed to operate the equipment. Each disc jockey is required to host at least an hour-long program each week, and participate in planning committees, general meetings, programming, promotions, forms and evaluations throughout the year. This is a paid position requiring about 20 hours per week.  The General Manager of CisternYard Video is primarily responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all paid staff and volunteer members, the coordination of online programming efforts, and oversight for all CisternYard Video products and events.
CisternYard Video is The College’s only student-run video department, where we write, record, and produce our own material about things going on around campus and the city of Charleston. Videos can be seen online at CisternYard.com.
