National Sales Intern – Arcadia Publishing

Arcadia Publishing is looking for a highly motivated National Sales Intern that will assist our National Sales Department with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. The individual must be available to start immediately and work at least 8-10 hours per week (working two days per week is preferred).
About Arcadia Publishing
As the nation’s leading publisher of books of local history and local interest, Arcadia’s mission is to connect people with their past, with their communities, and with one another. Arcadia is the home of the iconic sepia-jacketed Images of America series, featuring unique hyper-local histories of countless hometowns across all fifty states, as well as such series as American Palate, which focuses on local food, beer and wine, and Haunted America, which retells stories of famous hauntings, one American city and town at a time. Arcadia has an extraordinary catalog of more than 14,000 local titles and publishes 500 new books of local interest and local history each year. Using its proprietary Store Match system, Arcadia can create a highly customized hyper-local book assortment for any storefront in the nation.
About Arcadia’s New Ownership
In May 2018, Arcadia was acquired by a group of investors organized by former Penguin CEO and current Snap (Snapchat) Chairman Michael Lynton, business executive Lili Lynton (who is Michael’s sister) and former Perseus Books Group CEO and current National Book Foundation Chairman David Steinberger. As described in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ Arcadia), the group includes some of the world’s leading investors. Michael serves as Arcadia’s non-executive Chairman and David is Arcadia’s Chief Executive Officer. Since the acquisition, the company has been investing in systems and capabilities that build on its unique position as the nation’s leading publisher of books of local interest. One example, Arcadia’s new Store Match system, is described in the Publishers Weekly attached here. More recently, as described in the Washington Post (https://wapo.st/2TUjlXt), Arcadia announced that the #1 New York Times bestselling biographer Walter Isaacson has joined the company as Editor-At-Large and Senior Advisor. Arcadia, as described in a second enclosed PW story, also recently announced the first in what is planned to be a series of additional acquisitions of publishers.
