Aalen, located in southwestern Germany at the base of the Swabian Alps in the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. Its origins can be traced back to the Roman Empire at which a large Roman fort existed. Ruins of the old Roman limes (frontier wall) still exist. Today, Aalen is a communications center that celebrates its industries of optics, machinery, textile, and paper. There is almost 25% of Germany’s research and development capacity existing in Baden-Wurttemberg. Baden-Wurttemberg has many universities, most of which are internationally renowned. The University of Cape Coast is one of the rare sea front universities in the world, sitting on a hill that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It is located five kilometers west of Cape Coast and operates on two campuses: the Southern Campus (Old Site) and the Northern Campus (New Site). Cape Coast is the capital of the Central Region, in southern Ghana. It’s known for its role in the transatlantic slave trade and is home to a rich history and many monuments.
