Introduction by Margaret Bowden

Hi! My name is Margaret Bowden, and I’m a junior at the College of Charleston. I’m a Marine Biology and Political Science double major with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies, and this semester, I’m studying abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica through the University Studies Abroad Consortium.

I chose my program because it was important to me to be somewhere that spoke Spanish, and the classes that my program offers are perfect for both of my majors! I don’t know a lot about Costa Rica, but I know that it’s famous for its sustainable ecotourism, and it’s one of the best places in the world to see wildlife! While I’m there, I’d like to improve my Spanish as much as possible, and really immerse myself in the culture. I’d also like to try any and every food that I can!
