As the Mindful Economist, I am interested in exploring how mindfulness techniques can impact economic decision-making. Some of the areas I would like to investigate include the impact of mindfulness on risk and time preferences, as well as other-regarding preferences. Specific research questions might be:
- Does regular mindfulness practice increase other-regarding preferences as seen through behavior in trust games, public goods games, or joy of destruction games?
- Does regular mindfulness practice impact risk preferences?
- Does regular mindfulness practice impact time preferences (e.g., increase patience)?
