As the College of Charleston kicks off a new academic year, we do so with the start of a new strategic plan to guide us. One of the key tasks in the plan is to invest in the career development of students; for the Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) and the Office of Multicultural Student Programs & Services (MSPS), that means serving underrepresented and first-generation students of color.
Enter the Launchpad Mentorship Collective (LMC) – a weekly blog devoted to the collection of tips, anecdotes and stories from key members from the campus and external communities!
In addition to this blog, other resources available include tailored workshops presented by the Career Center on everything ranging from email etiquette to how to build and use a LinkedIn page to improve prospects for internships and careers.
The final piece of this puzzle is the Mentoring Matters program (offered by MSPS) and the Peer Mentoring program (offered by the Center for Excellence in Education). If you haven’t signed up for a mentor, we strongly encourage you to do so ASAP – you’ll be glad you did!
