On THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 2012 at 6PM, The College of Charleston’s Avery Research Center will open the Smithsonian Institution’s Anacostia Community Museum’s exhibit “Word, Shout, Song: Lorenzo Dow Turner Connecting Communities through Language”. The opening will feature remarks from the executive director of the Anacostia Community Museum, Ms. Camille Akeju, and Congressman James Clyburn.
