Prepare for Orientation Advising

Posted by: marshalljr | June 8, 2019 Comments Off on Prepare for Orientation Advising |

All new first-year students, except Honors, student athletes, and new transfers, advised by the Academic Advising and Planning Center should access a short online learning module that will help lay a foundation for success at orientation and beyond. Students will be introduced to the Language of College, What We Do in Academic Advising, the Value of a Liberal Arts Education, and the General Education and Graduation Requirements. This module must be completed before arriving to campus for orientation and should take less than 20 minutes. There is a short quiz at the end of each section, so keeping a pencil handy is a good idea. Failing to complete this module could negatively impact students’ Fall course registration.

Please note that the completion of this learning module is designed to better prepare students for their advising experience at the College of Charleston. Students are not expected to create a course schedule during this module; this will occur when students come to orientation on Day 2.

The Academic Advising and Planning Center will email students approximately two weeks prior to their registered Orientation session with instructions for accessing the online learning module.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
