Take part in growing the impact of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) around the globe! Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Field Event and Content Coordinator to serve with Operation Christmas Child International located in Boone, NC.In this position you will be part a team leading more than 15 Vision, Donor Ministries, and content trips around the world.These trips directly impact the increase of Shoe Box gifts (Gospel Opportunities) and The Greatest Journey (TGJ) Discipleship Program through effectively communicating the impact of OCC globally, to impact the spread of the Gospel around the world!Come join our team!

*Position requires frequent international travel: 70-80 days/year

A day in the life of a Field Event and Content Coordinator:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and then we join together to pray for one another, our staff and volunteers serving around the globe.

In the role of Field Event and Content Coordinator you will:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Ensure each trip increases awareness and understanding of the OCC global project and leads to growth of Gospel and discipleship opportunities
  • Provide support and expertise to SP-OCC International Field Events & Content Manager in the planning and leading of special trips
  • Ensure our international leadership teams (National Leadership Teams – NLTs), local churches (Ministry Partners – MPs) and volunteers are supported, encouraged and blessed as they plan and implement these special trips
  • Conduct pre-trip visits to train and equip our National Teams, train them, set expectations, establish plans and prepare budgets for each trip
  • Prior to and during the trip, serve as a liaison between the domestic trip hosts the volunteers in the field
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of OCCiStory, OCC video, photo and story repository
  • Serve as a liaison between Broadcast/Communications and the teams in the field to identify key impact stories needed for OCC or TGJ video/photo projects
  • Facilitate debriefs of all trips with host countries to develop best practices and, ensure NLTs, MPs and children continue to be blessed and encouraged as a result of these events
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; 1-2 years’ experience as a direct manager/trainer of staff or volunteers; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years’ experience living or working in an international context; comfortable in both rural/remote and urban environments
  • Frequent International Travel experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to liaison between people of varying educational, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, self-starter
  • Ability to see the big picture
  • Possess an optimistic, “find a way” attitude
  • Language skills:  Fluent in English (required); Spanish (preferred)
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)
