The Sottile Theatre serves as an attractive, elegant performing-arts venue for the College of Charleston and the community, hosting events that range from ballets, to Broadway musicals, concerts and operas. Since its opening in 1927, the Sottile Theatre has been a true asset to both the College of Charleston and the entire Charleston community. It remains a vital resource for the area’s continued cultural expansion.
Aside from the 785-seat theatre, this facility also offers several lobby areas, a terrace, and a garden as venues for receptions. The theatre’s management can provide the perfect area for almost any size celebration.
Upstairs, the Terrace Lobby provides a luxurious yet cozy setting. This versatile space is perfect for events ranging from champagne receptions to intimate seated dinners on the piazza. In addition, other reception spaces on campus are available upon request.
Adjacent to the theatre, the Sottile Garden is replete with ornate landscaping. The garden is an ideal location for dinners or receptions beneath the stars. Throughout the year, artwork by College of Charleston students from the School of the Arts students is displayed here.
