CofC Orchestra to perform Dvořák’s New World Symphony

The College of Charleston Orchestra will perform its annual spring concert on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Sottile Theatre, 44 George St., at 7:30 p.m. Yuriy Bekker will conduct the Orchestra, featuring renowned cellist Natalia Khoma playing the first movement of Antonín Dvořák’s beloved cello concerto. The program will also feature music by student composers Christine King and Chelsea Loew; both are composition students of Professor Yiorgos Vassilandonakis and are winners of the annual CofC Composition Competition.

Admission is free to all College of Charleston students and $15 for the general public. Tickets are available at the door. The series is a popular event among the Charleston musical community; early arrival is advised, as seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
