THREE PIANO STUDENTS TO BE FEATURED ON SC PUBLIC RADIO
Three College of Charleston Artist Certificate (piano) students will be featured on South Carolina ETV Public Radio (WSCI – 89.3FM) this Thursday, August 30 at 8:00 p.m. The award winning students Irwin Jiang, Amy Tan and Chee-Hang See are under the tutelage of Enrique Graf, Artist-in-Residence in the College’s music department. Tan and See will present a duo performance of works by Beach and Piazzolla, and Jiang will play music by Prokofiev and Liszt. The radio show “On the Keys,” hosted by David Kiser, is all about the piano. http://scetv.org/audioplayer/liveaudioplayer.cfm
Also, on Friday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m., the duo of Amy Tan and Chee-Hang See will give a recital featuring four-hand and two-piano music of Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Liszt, Poulenc and Lutoslawski. The duo has performed all around the Lowcountry, Italy, Singapore, Hawaii, and most recently Chicago. The concert is free and will be in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts.
COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON INTERNATIONAL PIANO SERIES
The College of Charleston School of the Arts announces the 23rd season of the International Piano Series. Season tickets for all five concerts are $80 and individual tickets are $20. Credit card reservations and more information can be obtained by calling (843) 953-6575 or online. College of Charleston students and those under 18 years old are admitted free of charge. All concerts take place at 8:00 p.m. in the College of Charleston Sottile Theatre, 44 George St. The first concert features German pianist Alexander Schimpf on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.
