At one point in the semester each of you will produce a “Review of the Week”: you will collaboratively generate with one other student a reflection on the week’s readings, writings, and discussions. The grade for the assignment will be the same for both collaborators; you will share the responsibility for ensuring that the Week in Review you produce together is the best it can be.
In most cases, one student will take notes on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. Next, each of you will write up a summary of your own portion of the week’s class. Then, before submitting, you will exchange your summary with your fellow secretary and make suggestions to him or her and receive suggestions from him or her on what you might modify on your own summary. After each of you makes revisions to your summary, you will email that final version to your fellow secretary. Then, you will both produce a complete Week in Review (including both days) and submit that to OAKS by Saturday at noon.
This Review of the Week will include three sections: Overview, Noteworthy Quotes, and Key Terms. I produced the Review of the Week for Week 1, as a model; all later reviews will be produced by students.
After you submit your review in OAKS by Saturday at noon, I will post this Review, accompanied by my Preview of the coming week, on the course blog by Sunday at noon. Where necessary, I will edit these Reviews before posting.
