    Right click on the Wireless Network icon in bottom right corner of the screen (as shown below) and select ‘View Available Wireless Networks’

    A box will come up showing wireless networks that are detected in the vicinity.  If it says “Windows cannot configure this wireless connection”, that means that a program other than Windows is managing your wireless networks.  You will need to disable this other program in order to set your computer up to connect to our network.  If you purchased one of the recommended Dell systems, click here for more info on how to disable the other software. For computers other than Dell, please refer to your computers’ documentation for instructions on how to do this.

    Click on ‘Change Advanced settings in the left hand column. (As shown below.)

    A box will pop up. Select the wireless networks tab and click on ‘Add’

    When you click on Add, the following box will appear.  Enter the settings as shown.

    Enter the SSID of CWWPA (All capital letters)
    Check Connect even if this network isn’t broadcasting
    Set the Network Encryption to WPA
    Set the to Data Encryption to TKIP

    After you have set these settings, click on the Authentication tab at the top of the window and set the settings as shown.

    Set the EAP type to PEAP
    Uncheck the box that says ‘Authenticate as computer when computer information is available.’

    Click the properies button under PEAP and the following box will appear.

    Uncheck ‘Validate Server Certificate’, then click on the “Configure” button.

    Uncheck “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain, if any.)”

    Then click “OK” on all the open windows related to wireless networks.

    After a few moments, you’ll see this screen.

    Click on it and enter your credentials when prompted and use COUGARS as the domain.

    After it has authenticated and you are connected, you will see the following message.

    If it prompts you for your username/password again, try re-entering your username and password again.  If this does not resolve the issue, log into Cougar Trail and reset your password by selecting the ‘Set Cougars Password‘ link in the right hand column.
