Sharon Kingman is one of four new members added to the School’s Board of Governors this fall semester. Kingman is a successful business and technology consultant, a School of Business alumnus and the vice chair of the College of Charleston’s Foundation Board. The other three new members include Garth Cook, senior leader at Boeing South Carolina, William Jana, corporate consultant at Michelin North America, and Wilbur Johnson, managing partner at Young Clement Rivers, LLP.
Sharon Kingman is an accomplished consultant for firms and organizations including the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, the Nagano Games, and World Equestrian Games Foundation. Kingman lends her expertise to clients who require technology planning, budgeting and needs assessment. Garth Cook, Ed. D., is currently a senior leader supporting several site initiatives including building University Relations with the College of Charleston, developing the Site Leadership Development Strategy and Curriculum, enhancing New Employee On-boarding processes, collaborating with Ready-SC and Trident Technical College to deliver requisite employee training, and partnering with local K-12 Internship Programs.
Previously the director of quality assurance on the 787 program from mid-2008 thru mid-2010, he led a team of 250 Quality Assurance and Liaison Engineer employees in supporting mid-body fuselage join and assembly, while teaming with international partners from Japan and Italy. William A. Jana has extensive, multi-faceted professional experience in transportation, international logistics, and information services for US, Canada and Mexico with a steeped background in business transformation for Michelin.
Currently, he serves as a corporate consultant for Michelin North America where he is a strategic designer for complex, transformational change in the organization and with external partners including process redesign, cost reduction initiatives, and resource development. Wilbur E. Johnson serves as managing partner at Young Clement Rivers, LLP, and practices primarily in the area of employment and labor law. Johnson is very active in the Charleston community and across the state in both professional and civic organizations. In addition to his numerous bar affiliations, he is a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
