The Office of the Registrar and the Transfer Resource Center will be closed on Monday, November 5, 2018 for painting.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The College of Charleston will be closed on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 for Election Day.

The Office of the Registrar and Transfer Resource Center will be closed from 1:45-3:45 on 10/30/18 for a professional development event.

Due to potential inclement weather from Hurricane Michael, the College of Charleston is cancelling all classes and College events for Thursday, October 11, following a closure notice from the Charleston County government. All campus activities and campus visits are also cancelled for Thursday, October 11. All classes on the evening of Wednesday, October 10, will meet as scheduled.

This cancellation affects all classes, labs, meetings and other activities scheduled at the downtown campus (including Harbor Walk and Avery Research Center), North Campus, Grice Marine Lab and the Lowcountry Graduate Center, including those courses taught in the English Language Institute and the Charleston Bridge Program.

Only essential personnel will need to report to campus on Thursday, October 11. For faculty and staff, please consult with your supervisor regarding work schedules. For students, residence halls will remain open, and the Liberty Street Fresh Food Companies (the main dining facility) will be open from 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Addlestone Library will have a limited schedule (please go to the library website for hours).  

Regarding a make-up day for missed classes on Thursday, Provost Brian McGee will make an announcement no later than Monday (October 15) about the academic calendar adjustments.

At this time, campus will reopen on Friday, October 12, 2018, on its normal operating schedule. For more information, please go to emergency.cofc.edu

Due to Hurricane Florence, the College is cancelling all classes and College events starting Tuesday, September 11, following an evacuation order for coastal counties issued by the S.C. Governor’s Office. All sporting events, campus activities and campus visits are also cancelled beginning Tuesday, September 11. All classes on the evening of Monday, September 10, will meet as scheduled.

This cancellation affects all classes, labs, meetings and other activities scheduled at the downtown campus (including Harbor Walk and Avery Research Center), North Campus, Patriot’s Point, Grice Marine Lab and the Lowcountry Graduate Center, including those courses taught in the English Language Institute and the Charleston Bridge Program.

Information regarding when classes will resume and the campus will reopen will be provided at a later date.

The College of Charleston will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in observance of Independence Day.  There will be no classes on this date.  The Office of the Registrar will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

The College of Charleston will be closed on Monday, May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day.

The College of Charleston will be closing at noon on Friday, May 11, 2018 in preparation for the upcoming graduation ceremonies.  The Office of the Registrar will re-open at 8:30 am on Monday, May 14, 2018.

The Office of the Registrar will be closed on Friday, March 23, 2018 for a professional development event.  We will re-open at 8:30 on Monday, March 26, 2018.

The College of Charleston will be closed for winter break from December 21, 2017-January 1, 2018.  The Office of the Registrar will re-open on January 2, 2018.  We wish you a wonderful holiday season!

Due to Hurricane Irma, the College is suspending all operations beginning Friday, September 8, through Tuesday, September 12. All classes and College events are cancelled for Friday, September 8, through Tuesday, September 12. Information will be provided at a later time regarding the reopening of campus facilities. Please note: the campus reopening may be delayed based on recovery efforts, and the College will communicate a firm date for reopening as soon as that information is available. Please be patient in this time of uncertainty.
